New search engine claims to index faster than Google

Cuil launched its search engine this week, claiming that it indexes more web pages than Google, Yahoo etc (120 billion pages) and can also do this faster and cheaper. Cuil (pronounced ‘cool’) was developed by Stanford professor Tom Costello and his wife Anna Patterson, a former Google search architect. Google’s search share continues to rise

Google continues to dominate the search engine market in the US, and managed to increase its share by another percentage point in June, meaning it now has an almost 70% share of searches.
