1. Raven Tools’ Update

Exciting news for Raven Tools users; the software which helps digital marketers manage and report on websites, has announced that they will imminently be launching a new reporting engine.

It looks set to be packed full of useful features, like flexible metric options, interactive charts and tables, and a WYSIWYG report builder. Take a look at their blog for more details and to sign up to be a beta tester for the new reporting engine.

2. Link Building Survey 2014

For the second year running Moz has published the results of Skyrocket SEOs link building survey, and there’s some interesting results, particularly with regards to spend, and what the most popular tactics for link building are – especially considering Google’s actions concerning link building activity.

3. Facebook Releases ‘Save’ Feature

Facebook is currently rolling out Save, a new feature which enables Facebook users to save links from their newsfeed to a separate list so that they can read them at a later date. The theory is to enable people to browse their feed in shorter ‘bursts’. This seems helpful – but unlike Pocket or Instapaper, it doesn’t cache the content behind the links. In the same vein, in a world where attention spans are already shortened by media overload, I can’t help but think that encouraging this type of behaviour is a bad thing.

4. World Cup Anti-Climax for Brands

Viewers of the World Cup in Brazil, the UK and USA were surveyed by GlobalWebIndex before and after the tournament to gauge what they thought of the brands that partnered the event. Seems the infographic below proves we’re all as cynical in the UK as we thought.
