Five things worth sharing from the last week or so, brought to you by a different member of the Browser Media team every Friday.
This week’s My Five is by Joe.
Although I can’t confess to being a regular watcher (far too thick when it comes to musical knowledge…), I still felt a little sad to read this week that the BBC is axing Never Mind the Buzzcocks. The show has been around since 1996 and its viewers enjoyed an impressive 28 series.
There have been quite a few ‘best bits’ compilations going up (see Digital Spy for 16 amazing moments from the show), but I think this one gets my vote:
Nothing like being able to take a joke…
The ‘future’ is here right now. Driverless cars are real and Google has been busy, for some time, developing its Google Chauffeur software to replace us mere mortals.
This week, however, I saw a gentle reminder why we should all remain a little sceptical about relying on technology when it comes to driving a car:
*Apparently, the issue was that the car had ‘city safety’ technology on board, but not the ‘pedestrian detection’ option, which is sold as a separate package.
If you are looking for a decent list of SEO tools and software, you should head over to SEO tools. It is a comprehensive summary of all the leading tools that you can use to help your SEO campaigns. Perhaps the one glaring omission, in my humble opinion, is the mighty IIS search engine optimisation toolkit, which I sill rate highly, despite being fairly hideous to look at.
And remember folks, any tool is only as good as the person using it.
Anyone into watersports, and especially stand up paddle boarding, will have probably seen the video of a close encounter with a killer whale doing the rounds this week.
It is terrifying and beautiful in equal measures. For those that haven’t seen it, enjoy:
And finally… another video and not strictly from the last 7 days but one that made me laugh. As a parent of two young boys, I spend a fair amount of time worrying about what may come out of their mouths as I know where the finger of blame will point.
Without wishing to be a spoiler, you should be warned that Hugo’s views on monkeys are probably not ripe for blasting out a quiet office at full blast:
Have a great weekend!
