Only available in the EU and Canada at the moment, Facebook’s new app, named Moments, automatically groups together photos that feature the same face(s), and then makes it really simple to share those photos with the people that appear in them (if they too have the app).
It has sparked controversy though as the original design automatically tagged people based on the Facebook database and people had no way to opt out of the process.
Named Amazon Video Direct, the new service allows users to post videos and earn royalties from them, much like Google’s giant in this sector, YouTube: https://videodirect.amazon.com/home/landing
Will it take off? According to Jim Freeman, Vice President of Amazon Video, “There are more options for distribution than ever before and with Amazon Video Direct, for the first time, there’s a self-service option for video providers to get their content into a premium streaming subscription service.”
“We’re excited to make it even easier for content creators to find an audience, and for that audience to find great content”, Freeman said.
It was found in a study conducted on 130,000 Facebook posts by Quintly between 10th and 25th April 2016, that only 2.4% of all Facebook interactions include the new reactions. A huge 76% were likes, 14% shares, and 7% comments.
