As the nation went to the polls yesterday, I chatted to Matthew O’Riordan, founder and CEO of Ably about realtime data delivery in the 21st century.

As the insatiable appetite for speed grows across everything that we do, the challenges of delivering data to meet the expectations of users are very real. Ably promises to meet these challenges and solve the complexities of sharing data quickly and securely.

I have known Matt for many years and he is one of the few (very gifted) techies that is able to describe things in a non-technical manner to numpties such as myself, so I could think of nobody better to discuss the concept of a realtime data delivery platform.

I was worried that I going to look like Diane Abbott and sit there clearly not having a clue what I was talking about, but hope that I just about pulled it off:

Many thanks to Matt for his time and very interesting insight. We look forward to watching the success of Ably.

Thanks also to Lupo (Matt’s new puppy) who was a star and slept soundly under the table whilst we chatted. He ran off with a microphone before we started and developed a keen taste for one of the tripods but was as good as gold.

I hope you enjoy the episode and welcome your thoughts in the comments below. We have a couple of episodes in the pipeline but are always happy to hear from anyone who would like to get involved, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to feature in a future episode.
