The industry click fraud rate has dropped slightly in the first three months of 2008, though click fraud is still more of a problem then this time last year, according to Click Forensics.

Click fraud rises by 15% in 2007

Fraud monitoring firm Click Forensics has just released its Click Fraud Index statistics for the final quarter of last year, and finds that click fraud has risen to 16.6% of all clicks.
This is up from 14.2% for the same quarter in 2006, and an increase on the previous quarter’s figure of 16.2%.

According to click fraud monitoring firm ClickForensics, the overall industry rate hit 16.2 in the third quarter of the year.

Google AdWords links hijacked

Google has admitted that criminals have been hijacking some of the search engine’s sponsored links in an attempt to install malware onto users’ computers.
