Like it or not, Facebook Actions have arrived

Posted on by Matt Batterham

Everyday we come across things we like, but rarely do we acknowledge them with a raise of the thumb. Gift ideas for the digital marketing geek

Posted on by Matt Batterham

With Christmas only days away, stress levels are reaching their annual high, fuelled partly by the last-minute dash for presents for your nearest and dearest. We recently held our annual office ‘Secret Santa’ ceremony, in which we presented each other with hilarious, occasionally offensive gifts. This year we all bought each other mugs, which significantly lessened the usual decision making stress. But it got me thinking, other than offensive drinking…

Posted on by Tom Sizer-James

My last blog post, about a search query I often use and guest blogging in general, ended with sentence; “Of course, finding blogs is the easy bit, it’s obtaining the links that’s the challenge. Posted on by Matt Batterham

It’s been a big few weeks in the digital music world, with Google taking the headlines for the launch of it’s much anticipated digital music service. But not to be shadowed by Google, Spotify announced earlier this week that it’s hit a major milestone – 2.5 million paying subscribers. Posted on by Browser Media

Back in September Facebook rolled out a number of new features, including the ‘ticker’ – a live feed located to the upper-right of a user’s home page that presents recent friend activity such as ‘likes’, comments, status updates and more recently, played songs on Spotify. It’s fair to say that the Facebook community were less than enthusiastic about the ticker when it arrived, as they are with most of Facebook’s…

Breaking news on Twitter

Posted on by Emily Wiggins

It may not be new, but it certainly seems that the debate between traditional media outlets and social media has hit a new high after staff at news agency Associated Press have reportedly been reprimanded for breaking news on Twitter (as opposed to through the wire) when several AP journalists were arrested at the Occupy Wall Street camp in Manhattan, US. It may not be ground-breaking news but certainly highlights…
